Catalyst to Losing Weight What's a catalyst?  Dictionary.com says a substance that increase the rate of a chemical reaction without itself undergoing any permanent chemical change. and a person or thing that precipitates an event. In this weightloss program the thing that precipitates losing weight is what Dr. Wayne Anderson in his book Dr A's Habits of Health defines as "Medically formulated PCMR's are a powerful tool as part of a comprehensive approach to healthy eating."  (Anderson, 2008, pg 72).
